This pass week News in Japan.  July 22, 2009 “The Total Eclipse seen from Japan”.  It’s has been 46 years since Japan has seen a Total Eclipes.  The Eclipes could been seen clearly, south part of Japan.  We are in Osaka area and we couldn’t see anything, cause of the thick cloud throught Japan.  So we ended up watching the whole Eclipes on TV.  So here’s a VIdeo that we found on Youtube on the Eclipes.  We hope you enjoy this wonderful seen.  The next Ecplies for Japan is in September 2035.

On July 11, Green Tokyo Project Launch the first Life Size Gundam Model. This Gundam stands at 18 meters tall, you can view this in Tokyo Shiokaze Park. The dates are from July 11 ~ August 31, this is Gundam 30th Anniversity. We have added a video and some photo from the event. The video can be seen in our featured video area. My hubby has been a gundam fan for about 15 years and still builds Pro-Model till this day.

July 19 and July 31 is called “Doyo-no-Ushi- no-Hi” in Japan. In English it’s called  ”Midsummer Day of the Ox”.  The hottest season and humid sultry weather. People suffer summer lethargy called “Natsubate”. On this day Japanese people eat “Unagi-no-kabayaki”, which is called charcoal broiled eel in English.  Flavored with thick sweetened soy sauce to increase stamina and beat the summer heat.  This goes down very well with Beer in most cases.  We haven’t eaten any on the 19th, but will have some Unagi no Kabayaki on the 31st.
